What is Laser Therapy?
MLS laser therapy is a non-invasive, safe and effective treatment option where light is used to promote tissue healing, reduce inflammation. relieve pain, and promote soft tissue repair and wound healing.
The laser converts light into biochemical energy, promoting normal cell function, which causes symptoms (pain) to lessen or disappear.
The primary biological action of laser results from stimulation of cellular transport mechanisms in the mitochondria, cell membranes and epithelial tissues. This causes the:
- Release of vasodilating chemicals,les
- Stimulation of DNA and RNA (building blocks) synthesis,
- Increase in enzyme production,
- Increase of superoxide dismutase activity,
- Normalization of tissue pH, and
- Increased ATP production.
Increased blood flow and improved microcirculation increases cellular nutrition promoting tissue repair and remodeling. Significant reduction in swelling is also noted in many patients with MLS Laser Therapy.
The MLS laser is placed 8 inches above the skin and is fully robotic. It helps normalize cell function and enhances your own body’s natural processes. Light energy is converted into biochemical energy. Immune system response is stimulated, while lymphatic drainage is improved.
There is little to no sensation during treatment, and many patients fall asleep during treatment. It is extremely effective for post-operative wound healing. Many hip and knee replacement patients see us for care. Since M6-MLS Laser is a cold laser, it is safe to use over surgical and metal implants.
